Biden took questions today after he did a presser on the jobs report that came out, and all reporters wanted to ask about was the drawdown in Afghanistan. Biden finally had enough, and told them he wouldn’t take anymore questions on Afghanistan…because it’s a holiday weekend?
We saw time and time with Trump that reporters would shout out questions about things that had nothing to do with his pressers, and he would be selective at times, refusing to answer some of them, especially after they kept pressing and pressing.
So I don’t necessarily begrudge Biden for wanting questions on the economy during his presser about the economy. But it’s his weird justification for why he didn’t want to take anymore questions on Afghanistan that’s the reason I’m highlighting this.
Biden said it’s the 4th of July and he wants to celebrate it, which is why he doesn’t want to take any more questions like this. But what does that have to do with anything? He’s going to celebrate it regardless of whether or not he takes more questions on this topic or any other. If he doesn’t want to take questions on it, he should just say that instead of making bizarre excuses.
If Trump had pulled something like this, it’d be all over the obnoxious media as they scandalized it. They never let him get away with anything, especially refusing to answer their questions.
