This is an interesting clip between Chris Cuomo and Don Lemon on Trump’s big prime time address tonight.
Lemon is super worried that people are going to just believe what Trump tells them tonight about the border, calling it propaganda. He even suggests there should be a delay or something, but to what end wasn’t clear.
Cuomo responds telling Lemon that Trump has the right to make his case to the American people and that wanting barriers on the southern border isn’t wrong, immoral, or propaganda:
Well that was surprising.
What ‘facts’ Lemon is worried about as the clip ends is that Trump will suggest the wall is a panacea. But Trump has never suggested the wall is a be-all-end-all fix to illegal immigration. But it is a big deal and quite necessary at the southern border to stop the flow of illegals into the country.
Of course we know that illegal immigration is more complex than just the southern border, with a significant portion of illegals entering the country on visas and then overstaying. So yeah, we’re not idiots Lemon and we’re not fools. We need a southern border and Democrats should absolutely fund it.
