I just gave CNN kudos this morning for fact-checking the lies by Kamala’s VP pick Tim Walz and now they turn around and make an absurd accusation against JD Vance, accusing him of stolen valor.
In the clip below, Brianna Kelar claims that JD Vance is misleading about this military resume:
I also think that JD Vance, as a messenger on this, may be an imperfect messenger. Because we have – as you introduced him as a combat correspondent, which was what his title was. But when you dig a little deeper into that, he was a public affairs specialist, someone who did not see combat. Which certainly the title ‘combat correspondent’ kinda gives you a different impression. So he may be the imperfect messenger on that.
This is insane. If you just look up the definition of ‘combat correspondent’, you will find “a correspondent employed to report news concerning the conduct of a war and especially of events at the scene of battle.”
You will also find it defined as: “Combat correspondents gather news and feature information for use in command newspapers, magazines, and websites, on AFN radio and television, and for internal and external release”
Kelar suggested that Vance is misrepresenting his role in the military, when in fact he represented it accurately! She even admits it was his title, but then goes on to suggest he’s misleading people. That’s absurd. Just because she doesn’t understand what it means, that doesn’t mean he’s misrepresented anything.
I hope Vance wrecks CNN for this ridiculous smear.
