WATCH: CNN’s Jake Tapper covers for Chuck Schumer WHILE correcting his blatant, repeated lie

How good is it to be a Democrat on CNN? It’s so good, that even when you lie so blatantly that even a CNN anchor can’t let it go without correction, they will STILL cover for you!

Keep in mind, the clip you are about to see is from the network that constantly runs chyrons calling Trump statements “false” or “lies” or saying “Trump says blank is blank. (It isn’t)” or even worse, something like this.

No such blunt correction for old Chuck Schumer, though, when on Friday, after the vote on new witnesses, Schumer said that the impeachment of Trump is a “sham” because there were “no witnesses and no documents.” (There were)

Jake Tapper responded by saying “we should note that Leader Schumer there asserted that there were no witnesses and no documents and that is obviously not the case.”

“Is not the case”?? It’s a lie, Jake.

Now, this isn’t a minor correction, as opposed to ZERO witnesses there “have been more than a dozen witnesses,” Tapper “noted”, and “thousands of pages of documents.” That’s a big correction.

And it wasn’t a slip of the tongue, Schumer said it three times, with emphasis, as the thesis and summary of his point. It wasn’t a tertiary point or a calculation error or a misstatement. It was a crafted, repeated, deliberate, willful lie.

But look how Tapper soft-pedals this humongous disparity, a lie deliberately designed to mislead the public. He doesn’t ever say it’s NOT TRUE or A LIE, and he doesn’t offer his correction as a direct contradiction to Schumer. Instead he thinks the network “should note” that what Schumer said is “not the case.”

In fact, the only time the word “true” comes up is when Tapper says “it’s true that there’s been no Senate impeachment trial without new witnesses,” and with Blitzer chiming in that they “voted against it, the combined intended effect of which was to render the impression to the viewer that Schumer was basically correct and still has a good point.

So zero witnesses versus “dozens” and zero documents versus “thousands” and they can’t bring themselves to even call Schumer out for it.

THAT’S how good it is to be a Democrat on CNN. The gaslighting is as insidious as it is ubiquitous.
