Colbert’s audience wasn’t supposed to laugh, but they did when he called CNN ‘objective’ during his interview with Kaitlin Collins.

Even Collins asked “is that supposed to be a laugh line?”

Here’s the clip:

Colbert responded “It wasn’t supposed to be…”

But when Colbert said it, you could hear the cynicism in his voice. He and his audience both know that CNN is far from objective and that’s why it was definitely a laugh line.
