CBS Face the Nation host Margaret Brennan accused President Trump of using AI to create his reciprocal tariff plan, claiming it doesn’t make sense, and asked Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick why a couple of islands “inhabited by penguins” also got tariffs.
Lutnick then explained to her why these two little islands, among many others, got 10% tariffs.
Brennan tries her best to make all of this sound absurd, but Lutnick’s explanation made perfect sense. They are just trying to keep big countries like China from gaming the tariff system.
