In it he blames social norms for changing but promises, of course, to be more respectful of women and their personal space.

Yeesh, that was just weird.
He’s trying his damndest not to apologize and thus wreck his presidential chances, but at the same he’s trying to placate the people who have taken issue with him so he can put this behind him.
It’s just a big non-apology apology. It’s not his fault social norms have changed, but gets it now. He gets it.
