WATCH: Crowd cheers after NJ police refused to enforce lockdown order at gym

A crowd cheered exuberantly today after New Jersey police refused to enforce a lockdown order at a gym that was reopening:

The police officer said to the crowd “We are and were over here for everybody’s safety today. We planned for the worst and hoped for the best, and it seems like that’s what we have out here. The best.”

He then added, “Normally, you’re all in violation of the executive order. On that note, have a good day, everybody be safe!”

At that point the crowd erupted in cheers as the police officers turned and walked away.
