WATCH: Democrat Senator BEGS Mark Zuckerberg to ban Steve Bannon from Facebook, but Zuckerberg REFUSES

Democratic Senator Richard Blumenthal begged Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg to ban Steve Bannon’s personal account from Facebook today over a ‘beheading’ video:

In case you aren’t familiar with this ‘beheading’ video, here’s what Mendenhall is talking about:

Zuckerberg explained that they did remove the content from Facebook, but Blumenthal wanted Facebook to go much further and completely deplatform Bannon by removing his personal account. But Zuckerberg refused, saying that he would not commit to such an action because it would violate their policies. He noted in certain instances, such as terrorism or child trafficking/exploitation, they would remove someone who shared content like this immediately. But in most other cases, Zuckerberg said that’s not the case, suggesting that Bannon’s commentary in the video didn’t rise to that level.

I would note, after watching the video, that while Bannon’s comments were stupid, he wasn’t actually calling for the beheading of Fauci or Wray and he wasn’t telling anyone to do this. He was simply using an extreme example to make a point, suggesting this is what he might do if he were in charge in order to keep other bureaucrats in line. Again, it was dumb, but I think any reasonable person would have to conclude it was simply hyperbole.

But Blumenthal isn’t a reasonable person and his comments here should send chills up the spine of every American. Because there are plenty of Democrats out there just like him who want to use these companies to silence conservatives for good.
