WATCH: DeSantis asked if he is going to run and if he and Trump are on speaking terms right now…

Governor DeSantis was on with Brian Kilmeade today and was asked a couple of questions regarding his potential run for president and, of course, Trump.

To the question of whether he’s running for president, DeSantis said…

“What I would say is that we’ve got a lot of support. A lot of people want us to do it. I’ve got business to attend to. This book is part of that; my legislative session is part of that. Until we get on the end of that in a couple of months, we’ll be able to see where it goes…”

He says more on this but you can listen to the clip below for that.

To the question of whether he and Trump are speaking now since “Trump appears to be taking some shots at you”, and if he has any plans to speak with Trump, DeSantis said…

“No. I mean look, it’s silly season and you know how some of this stuff goes. And obviously he does his thing and that’s kinda who he is. What I wanted to do was just give an honest appraisal of kinda how we got to this point, the failures of the DC Republican Establishment and how Donald Trump was speaking to things that some of the old guard refused to address. And that’s just the fact.

And you know, he can say what he wants about me. I’ll always give him credit for the things that he did that were positive and I’m appreciative of a lot of the things that he did. Doesn’t mean I agree with everything that he’s doing lately or whatever. But ultimately it’s about delivering for the people you represent and for delivering for the country.

So I wasn’t really into trying to throw potshots at anybody. My thing was just kind of explaining my approach to leadership, the issues we’ve tackled in Florida and how we’ve been able to see really unprecedented success for our state.”

What a class act. I hope he decides to run.
