At the end of the second Republican presidential primary debate, Dana Perino asked all of the candidates on stage to write on a notepad who they should be ‘voted off the island’ since none of them are getting any closer to Trump and none of them have suggested they are dropping out.
But DeSantis rejected the idea of doing this, saying it would be disrespectful to all of the candidates there because they showed up to debate:

I love what he said about the polling: “Polls don’t elect presidents, voters elect presidents.”
DeSantis had another great moment tonight when asked about Republicans losing in states because they were so pro-abortion. He rejected that premise that pro-lifers are to blame for midterm defeats and also got in a good shot a Trump for his abortion comments:
Donald Trump is missing in action tonight.
He should be here explaining his comments saying that pro-life protections are somehow a “terrible thing.”
