This is a very funny video and nobody is to blame and nobody did anything stupid or wrong except the criminal. Just putting that out front.
But it’s hilarious to watch anyway, as one of those things that’s just one of those things.
It was a car chase being covered live by Fox L.A.’s news chopper and reporter Stu Mundel, who has several outbursts where you can absolutely feel his pain, but also makes clear he understands that’s it’s just the kind of thing that can happen sometimes.
“You can see it right there, the suspect trying to get into somebody’s property or still trying to hide, and doing a very, very poor job of it.”
As the guy squats behind a car, he narrates, “LAPD coming to a stop. Come on, guys. He’s right there! The officers running right by him. They’re going right by him!”
It goes on WAY longer than you think it will.
“Oh my goodness. I just feel so bad for those officers making their way back now,” said the reporter.
For real. But still, what a great clip.
