The Joe Biden campaign accused Fox News host John Roberts of a “blatant lie” after he recalled that Trump had capped insulin costs to $35 per month for seniors.
Roberts mentioned this after a segment on Biden doing the same with insulin costs in his poorly named Inflation Reduction Act. Roberts quipped “I think it kinda already happened.”
Biden’s campaign wrote on X: “FACT CHECK: This is a blatant lie. Trump did not cap insulin costs”:
Fox host tries to claim Trump, not President Biden, capped insulin at $35/month

The next day John Roberts refuted the accusation that he had told a ‘blatant lie’ and brought the receipts, completely destroying Biden’s bogus fact check.

BOOM! It was indeed Trump who first capped insulin costs at $35 per month. His program was negotiated in 2020 and was voluntary. It ran during Biden’s term in office, beginning in Jan 1, 2021 and ended on Dec 31, 2023.
Roberts points out that the only difference between Trump’s plan and Biden’s was that while Trump’s plan was voluntary, Biden’s plan mandated it as law in the, again, poorly named ‘Inflation Reduction Act’.
