WATCH FULL SEGMENT: CBS Evening News interviews woman who says Keith Ellison physically abused her in 2016

Tonight CBS Evening News aired a three minute segment on the physical abuse being alleged by the former girlfriend of Keith Ellison back that occurred in 2016.

Here’s the segment, which includes an interview with Karen Monahan, the accuser and a response by Ellison:

In the face of the claim that she has video of the incident, Ellison maintains it never happened and there is no video.

Here’s more that CBS posted separately online, where Monahan points out in the interview how concerned Ellison was about her exposing his misdeeds on the day he announced for AG.

I can appreciate her wanting to be believed without sharing the tape. It has to be tough to let the world see something so personal and traumatic. But in this day and age when we’ve had women lie about serious allegations of abuse and rape – like what happened in the Duke Lacrosse case – it would make her case more believable if she showed the tape. Or if she’s refusing to release it because of the emotional trauma, which again is understandable, she needs to be willing to allow a reputable journalist to see the tape so they can back up her story.

Otherwise I think it will be hard for some to believe her.
