Governor Ron DeSantis responded today to the news that Democrats in Philadelphia have just reimplemented indoor mask mandates on their city and it’s fantastic.
DeSantis starts by reaffirming that as long as he’s governor, Floridians will NOT be subject to these same kind of covid lockdowns again. It won’t happen.
DESANTIS: “If I had a dollar for every lockdown politician that escaped their own policies to come to our free state, I would be set for life.”

DeSantis then went after these ‘lockdown politicians’, saying that if he had a dollar for every one of them who criticized Florida and then fled their own lockdown policies and came to Florida the first chance they got, he’d be set for life.
He added that some point out that these lockdown politicians who did this are hypocrites. But DeSantis argues that misses the point, saying that the real issue is that if these politicians thought their mitigation policies really worked to stop COVID and were necessary, they would be abiding by them. He says they don’t abide by them because they know it’s just about politics and control.
DeSantis says they know it’s ‘COVID theater’ and says Florida does not have any tolerance for it.
