Glenn Youngkin was on CNN tonight answering questions in a town hall and took one from a ‘trans’ student named Niko.
The student claimed to be a ‘transgender man’ and asked Youngkin about his polices that require a student to use the bathroom associated with their sex at birth and, likewise, play on sports teams associated with their birth sex.
Of course Youngkin was very gracious and diplomatic but he stood by his policies and didn’t suggest he was open to changing them.

I have to say I like that Youngkin didn’t answer the stupid question posed by the student at the end. Instead, he talked about his policies that were the basis for the question.
Youngkin did concede that schools need gender neutral bathrooms to accommodate students like Niko. But he didn’t – and I’m glad he didn’t – suggest at all that so-called ‘trans’ students should be able to use the bathroom of their choice.
And likewise on the sports issue, Youngkin stood his ground saying that biological boys should not being able to compete against biological girls and vice versa. He even said it would be unfair, taking away the gains made in creating opportunities for girls to compete in sports.
You could see the student’s dad shaking his head in disagreement, as CNN make sure America saw that. But overall I thought Youngkin handled it well.
