Joe Biden is already playing election politics with the Francis Scott Key Bridge that collapsed in Baltimore, Maryland, saying this morning that he wants the federal government to pay the ENTIRE cost of reconstructing the bridge and he is demanding Congress back him up on this.

Biden said: “It is my intention that the federal government will pay for the entire cost of reconstructing that bridge, and I expect the Congress to support my effort. We’re going to pay for the bridge to be rebuilt and opened.”
People still lie dead or almost dead in the cold waters below the collapsed bridge and Biden is already trying to win votes with an absurd proposal for all taxpayers to pay for the reconstruction of this state bridge. What a schmuck!
Notice he says “my intention” and “my effort”. This is all about winning votes for the 2024 election and when Republicans in Congress balk at this idea because it’s idiotic, he’ll just use it to attack Republicans later this year.
I’m not saying that federal taxpayers shouldn’t help with the construction on some level, especially considering that this area is a point of commerce for the entire country. But it is a state bridge and it’s reconstruction is something the state should have to fund.
