Project Veritas got their hands on audio of Julian Assange calling to warn the Obama state department of a leak of classified cables that he felt were going to be released imminently by someone who used to work for him:

What Assange suggested the state department do was to research and find the locations of the encrypted materials online and to covertly delete them. He thought by doing that they could slow or prevent the release of the cables.
Assange said he knew a few of the locations but didn’t want to divulge it, telling the official that it was more his problem to find them.
For someone who seemed dedicated to the spreading of leaked and confidential materials, I find it somewhat surprising that he would spend a day on the phone trying to warn the state department of an impending release of such materials.
