A reporter tried to back Kari Lake into a corner yesterday after she commented that Joe Biden is dividing the country with his divisive remarks.
The reporter was trying to pit Joe Biden against President Trump, using Trump’s 2020 election claims to stymie her.
Specifically, the reporter asked if Lake felt Trump was also dividing the country by telling people he won the 2020 election when he lost.
But Lake responded like a boss. Watch:
Below is Lake’s full response to the reporter:
How does that divide the country? Questioning an election where there were obviously problems is dividing the country? Since when can we not ask questions about our elections?
As a journalist for many years – I was a journalist after 2016 and I distinctly remember many people just like you asking a lot of questions about the 2016 election results. And nobody tried to shut you up. Nobody tried to tell Hillary Clinton to shut up. Nobody tried to tell Kamala Harris, when she was questioning the legitimacy of these electronic voting machines, to stop.
We have freedom of speech in this country and you of all people should appreciate that. You’re supposedly a journalist. You should appreciate that.
So I don’t see how asking questions about an election where there were many problems is dividing a country. What I do see diving the country is shutting people down, censoring people, canceling people, trying to destroy people’s lives when they do ask questions. Last I heard we still have the Constitution. It’s hanging by a thread thanks to the work some of the people in this area have done. But we’re going to save that Constitution. We’re going to bring back freedom of speech. And maybe some day you’ll thank us for that.
I think reporters like this one believes that Lake will stumble or hesitate or just look weak when trying to answer a question like this. But she doesn’t shy away at all. She hits it out of the park and I love how she does it, by pointing out that in elections past Democrats have done the very same thing as Trump in questioning the results of presidential elections where their guy lost.
2016 is just one example. I distinctly remember all the Democrat bumper stickers claiming that Al Gore won the 2000 election against George Bush. And the list goes on and on.
Kari Lake is not going to be upended by a garbage media reporter trying to back her into a corner. And that’s just one reason she’ll make a great governor of Arizona.
