Another reporter has asked Kyrsten Sinema about dumping the filibuster, because now that Democrats want to do it, reporters are totally ok with it. In any event, Sinema responds by explaining why the filibuster is necessary for Democracy:

I do like how Sinema doesn’t just accept the notion that the filibuster is some threat to democracy. Rather, Sinema defends the filibuster saying that part of the idea behind it is that there should be bipartisanship when passing bills. Wow. You just don’t hear Senate Democrats talking this way these days because bipartisanship is a principle that nearly all of her colleagues on the left absolutely want to throw in the trash now that they are barely in the majority. But Sinema says that she will gladly continue pursuing bipartisanship with a smile and be living evidence that it is possible.
A reporter pressed her as she was ending the press conference about the filibuster:
"So you're not going to budge on the filibuster?"
Sinema: "No." *laughs* pic.twitter.com/n2AbElZ0Io

While I would disagree with Sinema on most issues, I gotta hand it to her for having the courage to stand up to her party on this issue and refusing to sell out to the mob. She’s essentially alone here, with only Manchin by her side on defending the filibuster.
