WATCH LIVE: Day Three of votes for Speaker of the House – [UPDATE: McCarthy loses 11th ballot]

Day three of votes will begin soon for the Speaker of the House and hopefully we’ll have a different outcome than the last two days.

Congress begins their day three session at noon and we’ll get to see if the overnight negotiations might pay off for McCarthy.

Even if McCarthy doesn’t get the 2018 votes needed, it will be significant if he can get some votes from the opposition that he couldn’t get before.

But just one or two votes won’t cut it. I would expect that with the latest concessions he should be able to get close to 10 votes or more and that would signify that he’s close to getting this done.

You can watch the livestream from C-SPAN below:

UPDATE: Dan Bishop once again nominates Byron Donalds for Speaker and we’ll get to see how many votes he gets today. If it’s 20 like it was yesterday, then clearly the negotiations aren’t working. We shall see. McCarthy was also nominated, as expected.

UPDATE 2: McCarthy lost the vote again and failed to win any opposition votes. So we’re headed for an 8th ballot.

UPDATE 3: McCarthy has just been nominated again as the 8th ballot begins now. I would expect Donalds to be nominated again. Minor Update: As expected, Donalds was just nominated. So here we go again.

UPDATE 4: McCarthy has again lost, as expected.

UPDATE 5: 9th ballot has begun. McCarthy and Donalds have both been nominated again.

UPDATE 6: Nothing has changed. McCarthy has lost again and has gained nothing in terms of opposition support.

UPDATE 7: Republicans are going for a 10th ballot today to see if they can finally get McCarthy elected. I don’t see how it’s going to happen, but here we go again.

UPDATE 8: As predicted, McCarthy lost again. Same result.

UPDATE 9: The nomination process for the 11th ballot has begun. We’ll see if there’s a differnt outcome this time. Seems unlikely, but if there is a breakthrough deal, then maybe we’ll see some movement.

UPDATE 10: McCarthy loses again and nothing changes. Rinse and Repeat.

Since this is an open thread, here’s something a little different from the folks about Bad Lip Reading.
