WATCH: McConnell comes out against ‘slanted’ January 6th commission

Mitch McConnell just weighed in on the 9/11 style commission that Democrats want to create to investigate the January 6th commission, and fortunately he’s on the right side of it:

McConnell calls the commission idea a ‘slanted’ one and says that House Democrats have handled the proposal in ‘partisan bad faith’ from the beginning:

What is clear is that House Democrats have handled this proposal in partisan bad faith going right back to the beginning, from initially offering a laughably partisan starting point, to continuing to insist on various other features under the hood that are designed to centralize control over the commission’s process and its conclusions in Democratic hands.

McConnell suggests there doesn’t need to be a commission because law enforcement is already handling it, as there have been many arrests up to this point. He says the facts will continue to come out.

Whatever you think of his speech, I’m very glad McConnell is opposing this commission idea. Hopefully between he and McCarthy, they can make sure it never sees the light of day.
