Michigan State’s head basketball coach, Tom Izzo, was asked today about the idea of getting rid of the handshake line after ballgames.
This question comes after the head coach of Michigan, Juwan Howard, started throwing punches after his team got beat by Wisconsin a few days ago. He was apparently upset that Wisconsin head coach Greg Gard called a late timeout in the game.
Here’s a couple of videos of that altercation:

Some are suggesting that we get rid of the handshake line because of this altercation. The funny thing is, this wasn’t the players who did this. It was the coach!
Tom Izzo made clear he doesn’t agree and gave an epic response to this bad idea:
I love this. Izzo said getting of the handshake line is the most ridiculous thing he’s ever heard and that bothers him more than the incident between Michigan St and Wisconsin. He made clear that his players will continue to ‘man up’ and shaking the opposing team’s hand, especially if they lose.
