WATCH: MSNBC reporter makes the case for the 2nd Amendment

Thanks to an eagle eye at Free Beacon, we get to hear on MSNBC the case unwittingly being made for the 2nd Amendment:

The MSNBC reporter, Kerry Sanders, tells Andrea Mitchell:

“You have to understand, in Venezuela gun ownership is not something that’s open to everybody. So if the military have the guns, they have the power and as long as Nicolás Maduro controls the military, he controls the country.”

Isn’t it funny how reality has a way of making things crystal clear. 1 + 1 = 2

This is exactly what the founders new to be true and is a big reason why the 2nd amendment was created in the first place.

A citizenry without redress is a citizenry that isn’t truly free.

In some ways you might think of it as we think of mutually assured destruction when it comes to nuclear weapons. It’s not that the founders envisioned us ever having to form a militia and retake our government from some hostile force. But the fact that our constitution protects our God-given right to have guns means that hostile forces are probably gonna think twice before they ever try and take over this country. Because even if they could defeat our military, which is laughable, they would still have to fend off a much larger citizenry who would be virtually unstoppable.
