After accurately describing what happened that led to Russia invading the Ukraine under the Obama administration, Jerry Nadler accused Gohmert of spewing Russian propaganda on the floor of the House. Even though his time was up, Gohmert wasn’t gonna let that one slide and came right back to the mic.
Watch:
Gohmert talked about how George W. Bush put sanctions on Russia in 2008 after they invaded Georgia, only for Obama to turn around in 2009 and send Hillary Clinton to Russia with a ‘reset button’ to let them know Bush was wrong and that they wanted to reset relations. Gohmert said Obama turned his back on Ukraine and that opened the door for Russia to invade, which they did. His point being that it wasn’t Trump who turned his back on Ukraine with the aid, but rather it was Obama in 2009 when he gave Russia the green light to invade.
Gohmert then suggested the end of America is in sight, saying “This is a travesty and we’re in big trouble because Schumer was right. Now, it’s lowered even further, the bar. It will be used for political battles. And this country’s end is now in sight. I hope I don’t live to see it. This is an outrage!”
After that he yielded back, at which point Nadler accused Gohmert of spouting Russian propaganda on the House floor. Gohmert then ran back to the mic, even though he was out of order, and gave Nadler a piece of his mind. I couldn’t make it all out, but he was clearly upset and it sounded like he was saying that Nadler’s words needed to be taken down.
