Mike Pence was on Fox News today where he was asked about Ilhan Omar’s remarks on Venezuela, specifically about her blaming the US for Venezuela’s horrid state these days. Here’s his response:
Here’s more from the Daily Caller:
“The congresswoman doesn’t know what she’s talking about,” Pence said. “Nicolas Maduro is a socialist dictator who has taken what was once one of the most prosperous nations in this hemisphere and brought it literally to a level of deprivation and oppression and poverty that we have never seen.”
“Nicolas Maduro has no legitimate claim to power and Nicolas Maduro must go,” Pence said. “I couldn’t be more proud of the way President Trump directed our administration to be the first nation on Earth to recognize Juan Guaido as the legitimate president of Venezuela.”
Pence had already criticized Omar publicly from his @VP account on Twitter:
As Venezuelans take to the streets to stand for their freedom against an oppressive dictator, Democrat Congresswoman @IlhanMN chooses socialism over freedom. The Trump Administration stands with the freedom-loving people of Venezuela.
Glad Pence isn’t afraid to call her out for her despicable anti-American comments. She’s become the epitome of the Democratic Party and they all need to condemn her for these comments. But we know they are cowards because we’ve already seen how that plays out.
