In his Veterans Day speech, Biden went off script and began reminiscing about Satchel Paige, referring to him as the ‘great negro’ at the time when there was a Negro League for baseball:
Biden said:
“I know you’re a little younger than I am, but uh… You know I’ve adopted the attitude of the great negro at the time, pitcher in the negro leagues went on to become a great pitcher in the pros in Major League Baseball after Jackie Robinson. His name was Satchel Paige…”
Some are saying that this wasn’t intentional, but was just a slip of the tongue:
Not to defend Biden, but he's clearly trying to say "The great Negro League pitcher…" but gets his words out of order.
There are plenty of reasons to dunk on Biden, but this is just an example of an old man jumbling up his words. https://t.co/dBe66E7Fh0

I think Hookstead is probably right.
Adam Baldwin seems to think that Biden’s dementia is really the cause for concern here, not the fact that he said ‘great negro’:
The dementia-addled way in which he, the frickin’ (albeit potemkin) POTUS, bumbled through his Paige story is immeasurably more alarming than an archaic word drawn from his earlier, more lucid days.https://t.co/95FHUeU3M7

Whatever you think of this, I will note that I haven’t seen any MSM outlet put out a video or tweet on Biden’s big blunder here. Not a one.
If any Republican president had slipped up and said this, like Trump for example, it would have been everywhere in the media with pundits proclaiming that it’s just proof of their racism and white supremacy. But when Biden says it, it gets no attention whatsoever from the media.
UPDATE: Remember the outrage when Trump said this?
