After trying to avoid the mob, Rand Paul and his wife found themselves in the middle of a mob as they walked two blocks to get to their hotel. Paul says people recognized him and were yelling his name, and thus the mob around he and his wife continued double in size. He told the police officer that they needed reinforcements because the crowd recognized him, and they tried to get them but he says reinforcements never came.
Paul says the mob was completely unhinged, threatening to kill both him and his wife and shouting for him to say Breonna Taylor’s name. Paul credits the police officers for keeping he and his wife safe, saying if it hadn’t been for them he feels like they wouldn’t have made it. He described the incident as horrific.
