WATCH: Rand Paul displays his impeachment question that was banned by John Roberts and explains why it’s important

During the impeachment trial on the Senate floor this afternoon, Rand Paul both displayed and read his impeachment question that was banned by Chief Justice John Roberts, explaining why the question was so important:

After connecting Sean Misko and Eric Ciaramella to each other, to Adam Schiff, to the Vindman brothers and to prior discussions of impeaching the president, Rand Paul argues that it’s important we find out if the origins of this impeachment scandal were as phony and improper as the origins of the Russia investigation.

After his explanation Rand Paul also made an interesting point, noting that he never said Eric Ciaramella was the whistleblower and never even mentioned the word ‘whistleblower’ in his question.

“If [Adam Schiff] doesn’t know who [the whistleblower] is, the president’s counsel doesn’t know who he is, how does the Chief Justice of the United States know who the whistleblower is? I have no independent confirmation from anyone in government as to who the whistleblower is, so how am I prevented from asking a question when nobody seems to admit they even know who this person is?

Really great question. And one that Adam Schiff is very glad he didn’t have to answer under oath.
