WATCH: Rashida Tlaib throws her Democratic colleagues under the Islamophobia bus over Omar criticism!

Muslim Rep. Rashida Tlaib was interviewed for a weekly show that airs on Showtime called “The Circus”.

In the interview she was asked why Democrats reacted so strongly to what Rep. Omar sad last week.

Tlaib then proceeded to accuse her colleagues of Islamophobia.

Watch:

Here’s specifically what Tlaib said:

“You know, I’m trying to figure it out. It’s just this past week, I feel, and I know this would be somewhat shocking for some, but I think Islamophobia is very much among the Democratic Party as well as the Republican Party,” Tlaib responded. “And I know that’s hard for people to hear, but there’s only been four members of Congress that are of Muslim faith. Three of them currently serve in this institution. More of us need to get elected, but more of us need to understand as we come into this institution that I have a lot of work to do with my colleagues.”

So let me get this straight. Omar makes anti-Semitic remarks about her Democratic Jewish colleagues, but when they criticize her for these remarks, they are only doing so because they are Islamophobic?

Wow. That sounds quite anti-Semitic, considering that it was her Jewish colleagues that were the first ones to criticize Omar.

I don’t like defending Democrats, but it’s absurd to suggest they only criticized Omar because she’s Muslim. There was legitimate substance to this criticism, which was Omar’s hateful anti-Semitic remarks. For Tlaib to blame Islamophobia means she doesn’t actually believe the comments were wrong in any way.
