WATCH: Rep. Turner uses Fiona Hill testimony to explain why hearsay can be terribly wrong…

Rep. Turner used hearsay testimony from Fiona Hill to demonstrate the problem with using hearsay in this campaign to impeach President Trump:

Turner begins by quoting from Hill’s testimony saying:

Turner then holds up a Russian active measures report voted on by “all of us”, and quickly points the very first sentence in the report that says “In 2015 Russia began engaging in a covert influence campaign aimed at the presidential election.”

He then says to Hill:

“A little…effort on your part Dr. Hill and you would have known that what you just said was not true, what you had heard. One of which was…”

Turner then proceeds to note that in her opening testimony Hill had claimed that Ambassador Sondland met with Giuliani. But he says Sondland testified yesterday that as Ambassador he’d never met with Giuliani, and Giuliani issued a statement saying that he’d never met with Sondland either.

Turner then says to Hill that this is the problem with hearsay, that “no matter how convinced we are Dr. Hill, no matter how much we believe we know that what we’ve heard is true, it is just still what we’ve heard.”

Exactly. Hill sounds like a Democrat who has simply bought into the lies she’s heard from other Democrats and the media about what Republicans believe. As Sean Davis points out…
