Just as You have a right to an opinion, so do I.  I do not like Santorum, did not like him on first view. Because of his personality and his demeanor and presentation.  Shrill and unappealing.   And I will continue to dislike him – THAT doesn’t make me anything but a person who dislikes Santorum.  Why are you all so defensive?  I don’t like Obama either, didn’t care for Romney but I voted for him because he was better than Obama.  Geeze you guys could make a person want to change sides if the other “side” wasn’t worse!  YIKES.  You attack your OWN, twist meanings of just plain dislike of someone into something else.  Get a grip, this is a free America and I can like or dislike whomever I want to.  I can make judgements just like you – Idiocy and deception?  Shouldn’t be allowed a keyboard.  WOW. … Read more »

Do you have anything positive to say at all?  Apart from dumping on Santorum, insulting everyone here who supports him and generally being a bit of a pain… What else you got?

Lyrical’s remarks show an immense contempt and jealousy of Santorum. Santorum is the best, most decent, honest person in politics that there is. But that’s the problem in a nutshell. So, so many in this country no longer wants decency and honesty. The standards that so many in this country wants are immorality and laziness. Period.

cactusconservative I also think the “problem” with Santorum is that he talks about those “icky social issues” no one wants to touch.  Not only does he address these ills, but he does it with gutso … now, that’s what people (of all political stripes) don’t like as demonstrated by our contrarian friend.

lyrical “Geeze you guys could make a person want to change sides if the other “side” wasn’t worse!  YIKES.  You attack your OWN, twist meanings of just plain dislike of someone into something else.” May i remind you of your earlier quote of  “Yuck to Santorum.  Sanctimonous a**hole” which for 90% of people here is nothing more than a exclamation of hate against Santorum, and “attacking our own.”  So excuse us if we call you out on bashing “one of our own”, this isn’t the Blaze, or WND, where Libertarians/moderates have free range at Bashing Santorum for no good reason. Oh no, the Right Scoop community is far above that, we’re a community of true Conservatives, if you’re going to bash someone like Santorum, don’t use pathetic insults, use polite and logical reasoning.   Mindless bashing for no good reason other than hate at his passion for God and America can be… Read more »

lyrical JohnBohler “You’ve not offered ONE IOTA of defense of HIM” And you haven’t offered ONE IOTA of a logical  criticism against him aside from pathetic insults! lol And as i’ve said earlier if you think Santorum isn’t on the same level as Perry Pirro or Cruz… you don’t know Perry Pirro, or Cruz very well… if one of them is a “closed-minded, narrow minded bigots” then all of them are, they all hold basically the same positions! I’m guessing here, but i think the only reason why you dislike Santorum, and not Cruz, Pirro etc. is because Santorum actually talks about the Social Issue part of conservatism, which Cruz and Pirro both adhere too i believe, and makes it a central part of him… that or he isn’t a 5 star orator, idk, you’re going to have to talk me exactly what you dislike about him that doesn’t apply to Cruz and Pirro. All you’ve said… Read more »

You are only stating your opinions. I, and probably not too many else here, don’t give a pigs ear about your opinions. Why can’t you simply state facts? Exactly WHY are you not for Santorum? WHY is he “unacceptable as a candidate”? WHY is he “not good for America”? What policies does he have that you don’t like? What specifically has he done that you don’t like? I can name you many factual reasons on why I will not support Obama, Clinton, etc.. If I don’t support someone and claim  ESPECIALLY not to like them, I sure the hell can back that up with facts. Not my OPINIONS!!  You stated “We would be in the same position politically with Santorum as we are the opposite with Obama”, but in an earlier post said “The ONLY thing I can say for Santorum is that in fact he actually would be better… Read more »

Whoever gets the GOP nomination in 2016 should
adopt Santorum’s economic position of very low tax rates to promote
manufacturing in this country. Rick was for allowing US corporation to bring
money from overseas back to the US for capital investment. His plan
would have been a job boom and bring the Reagan Democrats back home.
Of course Romney and the Wall street journal crowd dismissed it but
it would benefit the unemployed, broaden the base with the working
poor while respecting free trade.

Sorry.  Yuck to Santorum.  Sanctimonous a**hole, didn’t like him in the beginning and don’t like him now and no way anyone can convince me there is anything about him that shows he should be in office.

lyrical JohnBohler To really hate Santorum you have to be one of three things…
A. a Liberal
B. A Moderate RINO who is really just a liberal under the Name Republican
C. A Libertarian, which is nothing more than a fiscally sane liberal.
Either way… you’re leftwing razz

JohnBohler lyrical   And YOU get to set the criteria?  LMAO. I also am not a Republican.  I am an independent and a REAL AMERICAN….and I never said I hate Santorum.  Seems to me you are the one with the problem.  Pah.  You spout trash and have no right to judge me.  And YOU, a follower of Santorum, are exactly WHY I don’t like him! Self-righteous nut.
You need to get with a real American proponent like Cruz, Judge Pirro instead of a far right nut who couldn’t even make it as a candidate.  The ONLY thing I can say for Santorum is that in fact he actually would be better than Obama.

lyrical JohnBohler”Yuck to Santorum.  Sanctimonous a**hole” You know that sounds awfully lot like hate to me!
And you claiming that he is a “far right nut” is proof enough for me that you’re just a Moderate without the R… thus Leftwing…
And if you think Santorum is further right than Ted, or Pirro, then you don’t know Ted and Pirro very well…. They’re considured “right wing nuts” in my book too, and i love’em for it.

@ lyrical – On any thread or forum, we DO have a right to judge based on what is written in someone’s post. It tells a lot about that person, and is the ONLY way the reader can know you, if they do not know you personally, outside of the forum. Therefore, I AM judging you, just as everyone else here should do. You have twisted up your own words even. The things you have written shows a clear cut dislike (hate) for Santorum. Black and white. Your posts also show clear cut idiocy and deception. I would have thought you were certainly one of the descriptions on JohnBohler’s post above. If you do not want this kind of portrayal, then change your own words. You are the one who got on here and severely criticized Santorum, caslling him names, with no shred of proof given to back up your… Read more »

If he had won the Rep Nomination, I believe he would have won the election against NObama.  We needed a strong Conservative and we got a moderate.  I still hope and hold out that he will run in 2016 again and this time we darn well better have a REAL Conservative, Santorum or Palin, or Cruz or someone else that actually takes a stand on values and morality and freedom and respects the Constitution, not destroy it.

WolfieUSA I share your theory.  Where was Romney’s problem?  With his base, and those in the blue collar areas of Ohio and PA.  Santorum had a much better chance “getting” these voters than Romney.  But alas, many in the primaries bought the Rovian argument, that Romney was the “only” electable, winnable one.  And, here we are.

Rick Santorum has been in high demand as a keynote speaker for the last several months, doing 3, 4, or 5 events a week at times. Just last week he spoke on “leadership” to students at Grosse Pointe South High School in Detriot at the invitation of the YAF chapter there. He communicated conservatism to these students in such a real and effective way, truly connecting with them. The majority of students left there with tremendous respect for him and said he greatly inspired them. That is how we win.  You can watch his speech and the Q & A with the students here  http://new.livestream.com/accounts/3685210/events/2050195  Awesome!

What a riveting, inspiring speech! Straight from his heart and mind — no telepromters, no speech writers, no notes. He’s 100% authentic.  Rick would have cleaned Obama’s clock and the whole secular Marxist ideology along with him. It takes a passionate, articulate conservative culture warrior to take on and beat a culture warrior for the Marxist Left. Every Democrat candidate runs purely on social and cultural change. The ONLY way to beat them is to take them on by their own rules, on their own turf, on their own issues and turn it all right back at them with heart, logic, faith, and reason. NO one is more capable of doing this than Rick Santorum.  All I can say is 2016 can’t come soon enough. Game On!

Well said.  Unfortunately, there were many “conservatives” who blasted Santorum for this, clearly not understanding, that “social issues” would be used in the general election.  For all those that “screamed” the economy would be center stage; they were blindsided by a campaign purely run on social issues.

PhillyCon patriotmom61 Exactly. Every single GOP/Fox talking egghead pundit screamed “jobs! debt! economy!” cluelessly thinking that the GOP had any power to direct the narrative of the election.  When Santorum’s campaign caught on like a 5 alarm fire, instead of recognizing we had a sure fire winner here, the GOP establishment/Fox/Trump/Adelson coalition brought out the big fire hoses to put him out. Stupid, stupid move — and they plan to do it again. How blind can they be?!
