Riley Gaines was at a House hearing today and threw the entire hearing into chaos after after she responded to an insult leveled at her by House Democrat Summer Lee from Pennsylvania.
According to Greg Price, Lee referred to Gaines as transphobic for opposing biological men competing in women’s sports (not in the video below). When it came her turn Gaines responded that if she’s transphobic, then that Lee’s opening monologue makes her misogynistic.
After about 20 seconds or so, Lee interrupted another speaker and asked to have Gaines remark removed from the record.
Gaines chimed in and asked why Lee would be allowed to call her transphobic but she wouldn’t be allowed to refer to Lee as misogynistic.
The legal minds in the hearing quietly discussed the motion until, surprise surprise, Lee decided to withdraw her motion.
