Ron DeSantis was asked tonight in a town hall with CNN about his stance on the right to life of the unborn. Of course he spoke about what he’s done in Florida to protect that life, but then brought up how Trump has flip-flopped on the right to life.
Specifically, DeSantis said that Trump spoke at the March for Life in 2020 and talked about how all life is a gift from God, comparing the unborn child in the mother’s womb to being the image of God. Trump emphasized how important it was to have protections in law for the unborn.
But now, as DeSantis points out, Trump attacks states that have enacted protections for the unborn, like heartbeat bills, calling them a ‘terrible, terrible’ thing.
DeSantis asks: “So how do you square that March for Life speech with now trashing states that have advanced protections…? Was he not being honest in January of 2020? Or has he just flipped his position to what he’s saying now in 2023? I think that’s a huge problem…”

UPDATE: Here’s an interesting bonus clip:
DeSantis was asked about the Satanic Temple display in Iowa. He answered by pointing out Trump's IRS recognized the Satanic Temple as a real religion in 2019, awarding them tax-exempt status, and perhaps giving them more standing to put on public displays as a "religious group":… pic.twitter.com/idLlNWLaU0
