What is Putin’s game? That’s a question second only to the question “what is the media’s game?” when it comes to Ukraine. And yes, I’m putting the Putin question after the media question, because which one do you think is more likely to affect Americans in the near term?
Fox’s Lucas Tomlinson posted a video this morning of Russian missile launch. It’s a major capability weapon that can be fired from a mobile launcher, which Putin’s gov’t says is just part of their nuclear “drill” exercises they’re conducting as they poise on the edge of starting a a land war in Europe.

It’s just one of many such missile launches the last few days, while Putin’s propaganda machine is in full GO mode.
Ukraine’s Zelensky now seems to think that Russia is about to invade too. He probably already thought it was imminent, of course, but now he’s saying it out loud along with Biden.
The media has been beating the drum for America getting deeply involved in this potential war. Their game has a lot of aspects, including the fact that they rely on so many military industrial complex commentators for content.
But Putin’s got a game too and it’s not irrelevant. Under Trump we heard a lot about the threat from China, from ISIS, and elsewhere. Don’t let the press make you forget that Putin can be a threat too. Especially if the media has anything to do with it.
