Senator Ted Cruz went after Merrick Garland for how he’s running the DOJ, specifically when it comes to prosecuting pro-lifers but not left-wing terrorist groups firebombing pregnancy centers.
The way Cruz sets up the premise for his question demonstrates the absurdity at which the DOJ went after Catholic pro-life activist Mark Houck while allowing these left-wing terrorist groups to remain at large.
Watch:
Sen. @tedcruz confronts AG Merrick Garland on the discrepancy between prosecuting pro-life counselors vs. pro-abortion extremists.

Cruz points out that the FBI sent two dozen agents clad in body armor with guns drawn to arrest Houck at his home, in front of his family, over pushing someone in front of an abortion clinic which would normally just be a misdemeanor.
He asks Garland “why do you send two dozen agents in body armor to arrest a sidewalk counselor who happens to be pro-life but you don’t devote resources to prosecute people who were violently firebombing crisis pregnancy centers?”
Garland claims finding these terrorists who are firebombing pregnancy centers is a priority, but admits they’ve only prosecuted one firebombing perpetrator while there have been many incidents.
Garland hides behind the excuse that these terrorists are difficult to identify because they firebomb pregnancy centers at night. I think that defense might hold more weight if, as Cruz pointed out, the DOJ hadn’t sent two dozen agents to arrest a pro-lifer who pushed someone to in defense of his child. The disparity is astounding.
Mike Lee had a less firery but similar exchange with Garland on the same issue:
Merrick Garland says that the DOJ has prosecuted more pro-lifers for peaceful protests at abortion clinics than domestic terrorists firebombing pregnancy resource centers because the pro-lifers are doing it during the day and the centers are being bombed at night. pic.twitter.com/8abeyZiHLX
