This is incredible, and it’s something you just don’t see much from the liberal media in our day.
In an interview this morning, Today Show host Savannah Guthrie actually put Andrew McCabe on the spot with regard to his being fired from the FBI, asking him why he should be believed now when he was fired for lying.
And then when he began to squirm and spin, she called him out on it!
Guthrie used Rosenstein’s accusation that McCabe is lying to begin this line of questioning. When she put him on the spot about his being fired from the FBI, that’s when it got interesting.
He first blamed all of this on Trump attacking him, and said he believed he was fired for opening an investigation into Trump.
But Guthrie hit back saying none of that was in the FBI Inspector General’s report, pointing out they had accused him of lying (lack of candor) and that’s why they fired him. She then asked if he was suggesting that the FBI Inspector General was in on this conspiracy against him and was making up this report a pretext to fire him.
McCabe basically said yes, suggesting that this IG report isn’t like any he’s ever read in his long career of reading IG reports! Wow!
Guthrie then responded that the IG report was quite detailed, accusing him of this ‘lack of candor’ four different times, suggesting his lies weren’t just misunderstood or due to confusion.
McCabe didn’t have much else to say, other than he’s suing the FBI for being fired and he’ll have to wait to go through each of those incidents in court.
That was amazing. Guthrie really did a great job of hitting McCabe with the facts of his firing as he was spewing his conspiracy theories. He really sounded like a loon!
