WATCH: Trump calls Nadler a “sleazebag”, says he’d love to go to the Senate trial to “stare in their corrupt faces”

Last night while most of us were sleeping, what is being called a ‘dust up’ happened on the Senate floor between Nadler and Cipollone. But it wasn’t a dust up. Rather, Nadler went on to the Senate floor and slandered Trump’s team, accusing them of lying at the president’s behest. All Cipollone did was defend himself and called on Nadler to apologize. Yet John Roberts admonished them both for breaking decorum and speaking ill of each other on the Senate floor:

Forgive the Youtube title, but it’s a Washington Post video. Even Mike Lee said this morning on Fox News that Cipollone did nothing wrong and that Roberts should have only admonished Nadler.

This morning, while Trump is in Davos, he was asked about the confrontation. In short, he called Nadler a sleazebag and said he’s never seen such passion from Cipollone, who he thought did an amazing job:

There’s more in the video, including Trump’s remarks suggesting he can’t allow John Bolton and others to testify for national security reasons.

In another clip that’s much shorter, Trump is asked if he’d like to go to the Senate trial. Trump responds that he’d love to, so he could sit on the front row and stare in the corrupt faces of the Democrats:

Lastly, since we’re catching up on last night, I should tell you that unsurprisingly the Senate defeated all 11 amendments offered by Schumer and the Democrats. Day 2 begins with opening arguments at 1pm and we’ll have another live stream post up for you then.
