WATCH: Trump chastises deputies, says he really believes he’d have run into the school even with NO WEAPON

Trump today held a governors meeting on the issue of school safety and guns at the White House. At one point he really chastised the deputies who failed to run into the school while the shooting was going on, calling it disgusting and saying that even if he didn’t have a gun, he really believes he’d have run in there:

Trump did give the caveat that you never know how you’re going to react unless you’re actually tested in that situation and he also said he believed most governors in that room would have done the same.

But isn’t that what we’d all like to think we’d do? I know some will criticize Trump for saying it, but I think we all want to believe that we have the courage to run into a building and take out ‘the bad guy’, to be the hero. Of course it isn’t that simple and perhaps Trump shouldn’t be comparing himself to those deputies, but at the end of the day I think most would agree with the sentiment.

Of course that sentiment stands against his dodgy record when it comes to avoiding the draft.

While there, Trump also said he’s going to ban bump stocks even if Congress does nothing:

Trump also told the governors that the NRA is on their side and wants to do the right thing:
