WATCH: Trump signs new FREE SPEECH order that puts college funding in jeopardy if they don’t comply!

Another great move by Trump today is that he used his bully pulpit to protect free speech on these liberal college campuses that have been trying to crush conservative speech for so long.

We reject oppressive speech codes, censorship, political correctness, and every other attempt by the hard left to stop people from challenging ridiculous and dangerous ideas. These ideas are dangerous. Instead, we believe in free speech, including online and including on campus.

Heres’ more:

He also had a student, who’s experienced hostility ‘ideological intolerance’ at her university to say a few words about what she’s experienced:

He made his announcement in the last hour and also vowed to fix the student loan debt problem:

Trump signs the order here:

You can read his speech here or watch the full announcement below. I’ve got it cued up to the 27:42 mark where it begins:

Do the same thing with GOVERNMENT contracts. Google wants Government money? Microsoft? Facebook? Government contracts from Fed, to EDUCATION. Mandate the respect and right of free speech on their platforms if they want tax payer money.

Amazing! Great accomplishments! I remember Bush would throw us a bone just around election time, but with Trump, we get good news between elections. I hope this is just a first step. More is needed to bring equality to Conservatives in academia.

We are so fortunate to have a President that not only loves our Country and has
the foresight to recognize attacks against its basic core values, but he also has
the courage to call it out and actually do something about it.

The student loan debt probably would stop being a problem if every university had half the responsibility of paying off the loan if a student fails. MAYBE to the cost of attending would go down to something more realistic, as well. Too many are graduating with a worthless piece of paper…in fact, the most successful students by numbers are those who served in our military for a minimum of 4 years, then chose to attend a university because they figured out what they wanted to do in life. I would love to see those who have no interest in attending a university learn a trade. We will always need electricians, plumbers, roofers, cabinet makers, farming, ranching, etc. and I think we should place more value in these important careers, which are in many ways far more lucrative. I would also like to see more actual workers serve in government, when… Read more »

An addition to the EO or even better push Congress to enact a law

– end ALL subsidies to universities – tuition is outrageous & supports academia that pushes social bs & brainwashes students.
– The same should apply to schools/colleges that turn out students who can’t even read or do math, etc.

Money poured into these institutions rewards the decline of education & the dumbing down of America

– abolish govt funded student loans $1.5 Trillion to date. (Banks actually do this…..surprise, surprise)

– end affirmative action that admits unqualified students to college when those who do qualify are denied

– American Students BEFORE Foreigners

All that you say is very nice, except that Congress will never enact laws that contradict their lobbyist donors, so if the first law they enact is to banish all lobbyists, I would be good with that. However, I do not believe America needs anymore laws. We have too many that are not enforced. This is the problem with having “legislators” who live in WADC instead of staying home with their constituents most of the year. If they stayed home most of the year, their constituents could watch them like hawks to make sure special interest groups are not influencing their representatives, lest they vote them out.

Can’t disagree with you Charli.

I’ve actually posted before that at least the House (435) should be working from their home states so those who elect them have access instead of COC, Lobbyists, etc. We have all the modern forms of communication to allow this & they would be more in tune with what is happening with blue collar workers. Just a pipe dream, but a nice one.

I worry about all things done without Congressional approval. Although I like the thought, this would have been viewed as satanic had Obama done it through executive order.
We are not Conservatives by convenience. At least I am not and I don’t want the next Democrat saying “Trump did it so I will do it” because we all know what a Democrat will do will be for the worse and not for the better.

The anti-American, anti-Constitution status quo ante on the American Campus was aided by feds unconstitutionally interfering in state matters on education. It was cranked up to 11 by Obama’s “Dear Colleague” letter, which unconstitutionally granted cover for the horrific abuses we’ve seen taking place across the entire, national college/university environment.

Trump is restoring constitutional order.

what the Federalist Papers were all about.

Oh yeah, the Founders were totally invested in the perpetual leftward ratchet. And however it goes left, your literally not allowed to undo it.

Sure. That’s how it works. It’s in the Federalist Papers.

Wonder if it’s possible to sign an EO that ALL learning institutions must be represented by no less than 50% Liberal & 50% Conservative Teachers, Professors, Councillors, etc. it would be a start at least.

Two years ago I believe the ratio was 82% Liberal. That, in itself, is a sin to our kids.

That’s basically affirmative action. While I understand the idea behind it, it’s still selective hiring. What they should go after is the price gouging universities practice. The left likes control of big oil, etc… Well, let’s see if we can get Mr. anti-corporation Bernie Sanders to go along with price fixes for big education. After all, if he wants the wealthier people to pay for it for the poorer, shouldn’t they have a say on how their money is being spent?

When my son was young he was very shy, so I taught him a little joke/riddle that would make all the little kids laugh and then he would calm down and relax (he uses humor now with his friends a lot – when things are tense or sad, whatever). Anyway in honor of your birthday here it is: how do you make friends with a squirrel ?

This is interesting. In the 60’s and 70’s, with the guidance of progressive LSD addled professors, anti-establishment students vocalized against universities for suppressing their socialist/communist “free speech,” until radical lawyers, including the ACLU, forced universities to allow progressive speech. Now, it appears that we are swinging the opposite direction, finally tired of failed progressivist ideologies, and lies that destroy a free nation, moving in favor of common sense, conservative “free speech.” The fact that these radical institutions will lose funding by not allowing conservative speech from all is good for the heart….if it actually happens. Frankly, the most intelligent parents will encourage their children to spend a couple of years in trade schools with easily managed, short-term debt, encouraging them to learn an actual, usable trade, such as electricians, plumbers, cabinet makers, roofers, construction, etc., where they will actually provide needed services to citizens AND make far more money than… Read more »

I’m glad Trump has been really busy doing things like this. It’s almost like the Whitehouse strategy was to save up some major announcements to suck all of the oxygen out of the Democrat/media complex trying to soften the battlespace in advance of the Mueller report.

(Suddenly we’re seeing CNN and the NYT coming up with stories about how Trump’s claim about making the Mueller report public is somehow evidence that Trump is in trouble, and other stories focusing on Democrat investigation-a-palooza.)

2019 has been really great, so far.

This reachdown into the universities is long overdue.

I’ve never been a fan of the EO. Obama obviously abused them and that leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Not even sure they are constitutional or not. However, if ever an EO was necessary, this would be the case. Again, hats off to Trump for a good decision.
