WATCH: White House doubles down on the BAD FAITH of the Philadelphia Eagles…

Sarah Sanders was asked several questions today at the White House briefing about the Philadelphia Eagles being disinvited and how Trump has made this about the National Anthem.

Here’s what she had to say when asked about why this was made about the National Anthem:

Sanders suggested the White House believes this was a political stunt by the Philadelphia Eagles:

Look if this wasn’t a political stunt by the Eagles franchise, they wouldn’t have planned to attend the event and backed out at the last minute.

And if it wasn’t a political stunt they wouldn’t have attempted to reschedule the visit when they knew that the president would be overseas.

And if it wasn’t a political stunt then they wouldn’t have waited until Monday, well after a thousand of their fans had traveled and taken the time out of their schedules, to offer only a tiny handful of representatives to attend the event.

Wow. I think she makes a good argument.

Torrey Smith, WR for the Eagles, had this to say yesterday after the White House’s first official statement on the matter:

At this point I think the White House is right, that this was a political stunt. But I also think Smith is right when he suggests it wasn’t just because Trump insists players stand for the anthem. My guess is that many of the player simply don’t like Trump and wanted to make a political statement by not attending. And as Trump likes to do, he hit back at the players and disinvited the team.

I don’t blame Trump for taking this as an insult, but he should have acted with more dignity and just stuck to the facts rather than trying to make this about the National Anthem.
