The mayor of the port city of San Juan went on a rant about the lack of help that they’re receiving, and how lives are in the balance.
She cites bureaucracy as a reason why people are dying.

I’m gonna be honest here and say I’m not sure which side is right about this. The left appears to be doing everything they can to make it look like this is Trump’s Katrina. That doesn’t sound honest. On the other hand, the Trump administration is acting like everything is hunky dory and they’re doing a great job. Not sure that’s true either.
What it comes down to is whether we’re doing everything we can do – not whether we can work miracles. Puerto Rico was slammed with an enormous disaster. Just because people die, that is not proof that there is neglect. People die even when everything that can be done is done.
So that’s the real issue. Is Trump doing everything he can to avoid a humanitarian crisis in one of our territories? I think that remains to be seen, frankly.
