This exchange between a radio show in Texas and Beto O’Rourke is the perfect example of what an uphill battle O’Rourke has to defeat incumbent Sen. Ted Cruz for his Senate seat:
(1/2) @ChadHastyRadio asks @BetoORourke to tell AR-15 owners in West Texas, including Hasty, why they should not have the rifle. "To be clear, they should have 'em," O'Rourke says. "If you purchased that AR-15, if you own it, keep it, continue to use it responsibly." #txsen

(2/2) O'Rourke: "At a minimum, Congress & the American people are owed a debate on this. ... Sign me up to listen to learn ... & maybe I'll come to a different conclusion. ... But in my opinion, I've come to the conclusion that we should not be selling these weapons of war in" US

O’Rourke is really trying to pull the wool over on some Texans on the issue of guns. On the one hand he admits he wants to ban the sale of ARs and other “weapons of war”. Of course you can keep yours if you already bought it, he suggests.
Yet at the same time he wants people to believe that he’s somewhat reasonable, that he might “come to a different conclusion” if we actually have this debate about banning guns. Yeah, right. The only thing he’d change his mind on is how many more guns to include in the ban.
He also readily admits that he wants to impeach Trump for collusion with Russia, even though no collusion has been found (or proven) by anyone:
.@BetoORourke reiterates to @ChadHastyRadio he'd support Trump impeachment if elected. "The answer is yes because I want to be straight with ya. I've seen an attempt, no matter how ham-handed," to collude w/ Russia & obstruct justice. Also, Trump isn't fit for the office. #txsen

Not to mention so-called ‘collusion’ isn’t illegal. But just like the far left, O’Rourke don’t need a legal means to call for Trump’s impeachment. Just whatever goes, apparently.
And with that kind of haphazard attitude on impeachment, it should tell you all you need to know on his judgement when it comes to guns. Today, just the AR. But another shooting after he’s elected Senator, and BAM!, we gotta ban all guns and repeal the 2nd amendment, etc.
