Well this is disappointing…

Today was primary day in North Carolina, and yes I went to the polls and voted. Only had about five races on my ballot, and the biggest of them all was the race for Senate.

I voted for Michael Whatley, and he easily won. His competition in the general will be our former Democratic governor:

So what exactly is so disappointing? If you add up all the votes on the Republican side, they add up to around 270k. Roy Cooper got 282k by himself, not counting all the other Dem votes.

If our turnout numbers can’t do any better than this come November, we’ll not only lose a Senate seat, but we may lose the Senate and the House.

It’s a long time until November and I hope Republicans take this seriously, because Democrats are going to be big trouble if they don’t.
