West: Obama is an intransigent liberal progressive socialist who is also Marxist

Gosh I love Allen West! In a recent interview, responding to the claims and demands Obama made on Friday from his bully pulpit, West says this:

The President’s concern is about getting reelected. The President’s concern is that he is an intransigent, liberal, progressive socialist who is also Marxist because of the class warfare rhetoric that he espouses. And I think that when you heard him on Friday and the more he comes out and talks, the more truly out of touch and incompetent he seems.

He goes on to say that when Obama claimed that 80% of Americans wanted their taxes raised, he wonders if Obama realizes that 47% of wage-earning American households don’t even pay taxes. This statistic alone points out one of two things – Obama’s incompetence or his lies. I’ll go with lies, because that’s what it is really. Obama can’t be honest and expect to get his radical transformational agenda completed with the American people clapping for him along the way.

West goes on to point out the same thing that Beck pointed out this morning, that the top 1% pay around 38% of the tax burden and the top 5% pay a little over 50% of the tax burden in this country. In an effort to substantiate both Beck and West’s claim, I did a little digging and could only find the latest tax data as of 2008:

What’s cool about this chart is that it shows the income cutoffs for each percentage group. As of 2008, the bottom 50% made $33k or less and only paid 2.7% of the tax burden. And just as West and Beck pointed out, the top 1% do pay almost 40% and what’s even more astonishing is that the top 50% pay virtually the whole kit and caboodle. Talk about a tax loophole!

West also responded to Rep. Sheila Jackson-Lee’s race based remarks on Friday, saying that opposition to the President is because his policies have failed and that it has nothing to do with this skin color:

Attacking this President is not attacking his skin color. It’s attacking his failures. He has a vision for this country that is anathema to the vision of the founding fathers, in our belief in individual responsibility and accountability and our free markets and free enterprise system.

I have to say I love the blunt force honesty that Allen West espouses. I get a thrill up my leg every time I hear him call the President out on his anti-American views. It’s just the kind of honesty that this country needs and more Republicans need to follow his example.
