“What makes you think when I say I’m going to do something that I’m not going to follow through??” – Gov DeSantis to Florida legislators

Governor Ron DeSantis said today that the new congressional maps that legislators want to sent to his desk are DOA and they will be vetoed:

He was asked about this today and suggested he doesn’t understand why legislators redrawing these districts think he’s bluffing:

DeSantis says he’s had legislators call his office, assuming he’s bluffing. Here’s how he responded:

What makes you think after seeing me for however many years, what makes you think when I say I’m going to do something that I’m not going to follow through? It’s just the reality. I don’t make declarations lightly. I know there’s a lot of moving parts – I don’t want to say I’m going to do something then not do it. So when I say expect this, they should expect it.

I love this. What a great line from DeSantis, who seems to be chocked full of them lately. This is why people love him so much, because he does what he says he’s going to do. He fights for the people and he keeps his word. This man is going places.
