White House confirms they are investigating Google

As you know already, Trump called out Google this morning for their bias against conservative news outlets after searching for “Trump news” and finding only “Fake News” articles, as he called them.

Well now, according to Reuters, the White House has confirmed it is investigating Google for bias:

Trump’s economic adviser, Larry Kudlow, later told reporters that the White House was “taking a look” at Google, saying they would do “some investigation and some analysis,” without providing further details.

Google, on their behalf, denied the allegations in a statement:

Google said in a statement that its search engine “is not used to set a political agenda and we don’t bias our results toward any political ideology … We continually work to improve Google Search and we never rank search results to manipulate political sentiment.”

Whether you think Trump is right or wrong about bias in the search engine, the White House really has no business interfering with Google’s algorithms – which is why I wish he’d just focus on his job instead of getting involved with stuff like this.

But instead he’s now got his White House investigating Google and that’s quite bothersome. Google is a private business and the government doesn’t need to tell Google how they should run their search engine.

If this were Obama’s White House trying to pressure the search giant into something political, I feel sure many on the right would see the problem with this. Instead I get emails accusing me of having TDS.
