The White House is defending Obama’s massive birthday party that he’s planning where he’ll have around 700 people in attendance:

Wasn’t it just last week that the CDC advised the vaccinated to wear masks indoors, especially among the unvaccinated? Sure, the guidance targeted so called ‘hotspots’, but Psaki didn’t even urge caution to the people planning Obama’s potential super-spreader event. She just acted as though everything would be just fine.
But when it comes to Governor Ron DeSantis, Psaki’s demeanor changes:
Psaki goes hard after Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, urging him to do more to "encourag[e] people to get vaccinated," "wear masks, including allowing people and schools to mandate" them. She actually claims that students aren’t allowed to wear masks. That is completely untrue. DeSantis made clear that the decision to mask students is up to the parents and NOT school officials or the state government. He plainly said parents could mask their children if they wanted to, but they wouldn’t be forced to do it. And he’s basing it on the science.
I know that Obama isn’t a governor and this isn’t necessarily a tit for tat comparison. But one is a political ally and the other a political enemy, and that’s really what this boils down to in my opinion.
