White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was asked today about all the pushback Biden has been getting after stating on 60 Minutes that the pandemic is over.
But her attempt to walk back Biden’s comment was strange.

“Just to step back for a second, when he made those comments, he was walking through the Detroit car show, the halls of the Detroit car show, he was looking around…”
She doesn’t explicitly walk them back, but that appears to be what she’s trying to do by suggesting that Biden was just commenting on what he was seeing at the Detroit car show.
But that’s not what he was doing. He made this comment unequivocally, saying “The pandemic is over. We still have a problem with Covid. We’re still doing a lot of work on it. It’s — but the pandemic is over.” This wasn’t just about what he was seeing at the Detroit car show.
This is just another feeble attempt by the White House to reverse course on the latest gaffe by the senile occupant of the Oval Office.
