Treasury Secretary Mnuchin has just announced that Trump has given him new sanctions authority for use against Turkey:
Mnuchin says Trump is very concerned about Turkey’s new offensive in northern Syria and is threatening to use “very powerful” sanctions against Turkey because of it.
But Mnuchin emphasized that they are not putting sanctions in action at this time. This is more of a warning to Turkey than anything else.
Mnuchin added that they can shut down Turkey’s economy if they need to with these sanctions…
